Part Manufacturing
As a turnkey machine manufacturer, VDL is fully equipped with its machinery range for processing stainless steel, aluminum and plastics. In our manufacturing facility, we have various possibilities to manufacture applicable parts from tube, bar and plate material, according to high tolerance and quality standards.
Custom-Specific and Serial Production
With our modern manufacturing facility we offer our partners the possibility to produce complex parts using machining, (fiber) laser-cutting and bending. Moreover, we are able to produce very large series using robotized manufacturing. In this way, we manage our production not only based on the principle of built-to-print ( which means we produce according to the production drawings of our customer), but also based on built-to-spec (which means that we also take care of the engineering including the production drawings).

The manufacturing facility is grouped into the following departments/workshops, each having its own expertise:
Sheet Laser Cutting & CNC-Punching
Our manufacturing facility consists of an extensive sheet metal processing workshop with various advanced machines for processing not only stainless steel, but also aluminum and various plastic sheets. Besides bending and rolling machines, out sheet metal processing workshop is equipped with:
Sheet Folding
Besides sheet laser cutting and punching we at VDL Systems have many possibilities for sheet metal processing. The most frequently applied fashion for forming sheet metal parts (for a welding assembly) is folding, or bending. Consequently, our sheet metal machinery consists of 4 CNC bending machines for a wide variety of folded / bended parts like small parts, large series, large parts and complex parts with need a large number of folds per piece. For folding / bending, VDL Systems is equipped with the following machines:
Tube Laser Cutting
The machine park of VDL Systems consists of a state-of-the-art, fiber-laser cutting machine for cutting tubes, pipes and profiles with the highest precision.
Taking into account manufacturability, dimensional stability of (weld) assemblies and the overall costs, applying tubes and pipes with mortise and tenon joints and other connection techniques will allow for new applicable processing techniques in stainless steel machine manufacturing. So, the already very extensive machinery park of VDL Systems is also equipped with a:
- Tube fiber laser cutting machine
Profile and Sheet Rolling & Pipe Bending
Besides sheet folding machines, our manufacturing facility is equipped with rolling machines for producing round and conical shapes from sheet metal. For bending pipes from straight to round shapes, VDL Systems has a pipe bending machines which is mostly used for manufacturing machine piping. For the above mentioned operations we have available the following machines:
Cut-Sawing & CNC Milling
Amongst others, our production organization consists of a fully equipped machining department with a wide variety of cutting, sawing, drilling, sanding and milling machines. This machinery allows us to supply high quality products both as single units and in large volumes. Our cut-sawing & milling workshop consists of:
- Semi-automatic mitre-sawing machines
- Semi-automatic circular sawing machine
- 5-axial Machining Centre
- CNC Milling centres (various)
CNC Turning (Robotized)
Our possibilities in machining are completed with a wide variety of machines for automatic turned products. A part from CN-operated coordinates drilling machines, the machine park of the machining workshop is completed with a robotic loading cell with is installed at one of our turning lathes (largest diameter: 406mm). In totality, our machining workshop for processing stainless steel, aluminum and plastics consists of the following machines:
- CNC turning lathes (incl. robotic loading cell)
- CNC-draaibank met subspindel en stafaanvoer
- Coordinates drilling line (CN-operated)
- Thread drilling machines
Measuring & Inspecting
VDL Systems’ workshops are not able to deliver the high quality standards that our customers ask for, without our fully equipped quality department. It has the access to high-end 3D-measuring instruments so that we can guarantee the highest quality of our products. This allows us to execute accurate precision measurements to be able to comply to the ever increasing customer demands on quality tolerances. For this, VDL Systems has among other a:
- FARO Quantum FaroArm portable measuring machine
- Product measure / test boards
